Can I put HX Stomp patches on my HELIX?

I would like to purchase a new patch.

The website I'm hoping to buy it from only builds patches for HX Stomp however I own a HELIX.

Can the HELIX accept HX Stomp patches?

If not, is there of looking at the patch without owning / having access to an HX Stomp so that I can replicate the settings in an identical patch on the HELIX?

Yes you can get an HX Stomp patch onto Helix. I’m not sure that it can be done directly using HX Edit. Perhaps it can, but you can certainly use a trial version of Helix Native to either create a Helix-compatible patch or at least to inspect and manually recreate it.

Hi,

Yes, no problem, providing you are using the latest version of the Firmware there shouldn't be any issues.

Connect your Helix to your computer via USB, then simply drag and drop the preset .hlx file into an empty "New Preset" slot (or overwrite and existing one). It should then appear on your hardware. Done.

Note: The Helix uses 2 DSP chips whereas the the HX Stomp is limited to a single chip. This means that a preset intended for use on the Stomp, or XL, can only occupy blocks on a single path. It is also possible to create a preset on your Helix which uses only a single path, and provided it doesn't exceed the single DSP and block usage, it can be used in a single chip unit.

Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi,

No problem - happy to help, and if you don't know you just have to ask, or have a read through the Helix manual - it's free!

Helix floor, and rack, are the flagship units and they are fully spec'd. They should be able to load anything created for a single DSP unit, and it should then appear only on the A Path of your device. which still give you a spare DSP on Path B, allowing you to add even more FX should you wish.

See page 5 - Preset Sharing with Helix/HX Devices & Helix Native Plugin.

Hope this helps/makes sense.
